Write for Up Your Look Magazine

If you’re ready to fill up your portfolio while working with an amazing team then please fill out our Write for Us form. Once we’ve received your application, you will be sent an email with a short writing exercise for you to complete so we can get a feel for your writing style. Then our team will review your writing exercise and if we feel like you’re a good fit, we will reach out to you for an interview.

In the meantime, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram if you haven’t already. We can’t wait to see your submissions and potentially work with you!

Opportunity Awaits

The number of topics to write about and learn from never ends, which is why we’re looking for writers who have an interest in the realm of sustainability, innovation, fashion, and self-care to join our team.

This is a contract position, so you will be given assignments to complete. Each assignment will have a due date, and if you accept the assignment, you will work on it. You’re compensated for your work on a point system, which includes points for drafts. We do compensate on a bi-weekly basis on a set schedule. You will get more information if you are accepted for this position.

Our planet is in desperate need of help. This is why it’s important to us to shine a light on new ideas and innovations within sustainability. When we all learn and start spreading awareness of these new innovations, we can make them become mainstream. That’s where you come in as a writer. Is there a topic or invention you read that hasn’t been covered enough? Then you may have the opportunity to write about it for us.

What You Bring to the Table

You’re a writer who’s looking to get your name out there while writing well-researched and unbiased articles on a variety of topics. Knowledge or interest in sustainability and fashion is a plus but not a requirement.

Knowing how to cater articles to the online space as well as being able to take hard-to-understand concepts and break them down into easy-to-understand language is also a plus.

You are someone who understands the importance of deadlines but can also readjust those deadlines when needed. Being able to take constructive criticism so you can improve your craft is important. None of us are perfect and we’re all here to help each other improve.

Strong communication skills are a plus. If you’re stuck on a topic or not sure how to move forward, don’t hesitate to reach out, so we can solve the issue together and keep things moving.
